Industry Information
Over the next five years, the construction industry in Scotland, and across the UK, is projected to grow. Contributing to this is the Scottish Government’s target to build 50,000 new homes by 2021, meaning there will be jobs waiting for skilled workers. Per year, the construction industry contributes £21.4 billion to Scotland’s economy. Skilled trades, including plumbing and woodwork, are likely to struggle to meet demand in the coming years and trained workers can expect to find work in these areas. The average salary is around £35,000 per annum. Construction managers can expect an average salary of approximately £60,000 per annum.
