We are so excited to launch our brand new Parent and Toddler climbing sessions - The Pre School of Rock! Parent and Toddler Climbing sessions are a fantastic way to introduce younger children to climbing, as well as developing co-ordination, balance, confidence, gross motor skills and problem solving. We are running sessions on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 10.30am - 11.30am.

What do the sessions involve?

  • These sessions are guided by an instructor, and are tailored to provide a fun and safe environment for toddlers to start their climbing journey.
  • Exclusive use of the boulder area for the toddlers on the session.
  • Induction to the area, equipment and how to keep your child safe.
  • Instructor guided, fun activities to develop gross motor skills, balance, problem solving, coordination and confidence.
  • Interaction with others.
  • Mixture of soft play, movement games and bouldering fun.
  • New challenges and climbing routes every week.
  • Celebration of achievement weekly
  • Spaces are limited to ensure ample space

How to book?

  • All booking are made online - see link below.
  • Bookings are made per session - if you would like to book multiple sessions then each one needs to be booked seperately (use 'Schedule Another Event' button on booking confirmation page)
  • If you are booking 2 children in - please ensure you book each child in seperately (use the 'Schedule Another Event' button the booking confirmation page
  • Cost is £6.50 per junior per session - paid online

No, this session has an instructor present, but you will be responsible for supervising your child.

Yes, you can bring up to 2 children per adult - however please ensure each child is booked on separately online (i.e. make 2 bookings)

Yes! An induction to the area will be given on your first visit and the toddlers will use the bouldering wall (lower wall height over safety matting) and not the roped climbs, so no experience required.

Yes! If you have relevant experience and have been checked by an instructor, you can belay them on roped climbs.  However, we will have lots of fun equipment to play with during the session so you may want to wait until after the session to use the ropes!

We will endeavour to add more days after the Summer if there is demand.  Parents/guardians can also bring their children along independently out-with these sessions as we have no minimum age limit and can provide tuition on all the safety aspects.

While there’s no minimum age, toddlers who are fairly steady walkers will benefit most as games will include balancing/jumping/throwing/climbing etc. The sessions are designed for up to age 5, however older siblings are welcome as long as you can happily supervise both children.

Yes. The equipment will be tidied away at 1130am and the area will reopen to everyone, but you’ll be welcome to stay on at no extra charge.

No. For safety reasons we’ll ask adults to remain on the floor while supervising children.
