Royal Visit

College restaurant fit for a Queen

Luncheon menu, on the occasion of the silver jubilee visit of HM Queen Elizabeth IIWhen the Queen embarked on her Silver Jubilee tour of 1977, she — along with the Duke of Edinburgh and around 100 guests — enjoyed a suitably regal lunch on our campus.

Organised by head of food and fashion department, Roger Barnes, the meal was prepared and served by forty students aged 16 and 17 to Her Majesty’s exacting standards. And today our training restaurant is still going strong, impressing visitors with its high quality and winner of the College Restaurant of the Year for Scotland and Northern Ireland award.
