Research and Knowledge Exchange
UHI Perth is a leading partner in the University of the Highlands and Islands - who achieved the two top grades (internationally excellent and world leading) for over 69% of the research submitted for review to the Research Excellence Framework in 2015.
The capacity for research and scholarship is continually growing at UHI Perth, forming part of wider research developments across the University of the Highlands and Islands. We are committed to supporting staff and students in developing a research capacity, including the growth of postgraduate research, together with other UHI partners.
Our research is building on the existing strengths in the areas of and pedagogy, as well as focusing on individual staff interests including engineering, entrepreneurship, popular music studies, health and social sciences.
As a partner in the University of the Highlands and Islands, we can supervise research postgraduates at Masters and Doctoral level in a number of key research areas. In delivering research degrees, we work closely with the UHI Graduate School, which is developing a strong research culture across the university, where students can interact with the wider UK and international academic community.
Overall, we are striving to nurture and develop high quality academic research, at all levels, here at UHI Perth.
