David Macluskey, Independent Board Member
Strategic Lead Education and Learning (Chief Education Officer), Perth and Kinross Council
David Macluskey has statutory responsibility for the education of all children and young people in Perth and Kinross, overseeing the education of around 20,000 children and young people through 76 schools and various Early Years settings. He has been in this role since January 2025. David is the vice chair of the Perth and Kinross Local Employability Forum and will join the Developing Young Workforce (Tayside) Board in August. Nationally, he co-chairs the Curriculum and Qualifications Group of the Association of Directors of Education in Scotland and is a member of the Scottish Career Collaborative. Until recently, he served as an Associate Assessor for His Majesty’s Inspectorate for Education.
Outwith work David is a keen musician and enjoys supporting Greenock Morton. Originally from Johnstone, Renfrewshire he lives in Crieff with his family.
