About this course
This course has been designed to give pupils an understanding of beauty skills, application and knowledge of the beauty sector. Focus is on practical skills and interpersonal skills to develop a foundation to further education, training and employment within the beauty and/or Hairdressing industry.
With a blend of theory and practical based learning, the emphasis is on experiencing the salon environment and the development of vocational skills, knowledge and understanding whilst practicing communication and customer care skills within a salon environment.
You will develop and learn skills in: skin cleansing routines; make-up application; manicure skills, including polish application and creative nail finishes; and hairstyling using thermal styling equipment and plaiting, braiding and twisting.

This course is aimed at S4 pupils. There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but you will be invited to attend an interview with a college member of staff to discuss your application.

Once you have completed this course you may be able to progress onto another Schools College Partnership Course or a full-time course at UHI Perth.
