Highlands and Islands Students’ Association (HISA) Elections – Nominations Open
Nominations are still open for the first election of the Highland and Islands Students’ Association, HISA.
HISA will represent all students at a regional level, so if it matters to you, it matters to HISA! If you would like to make a difference, please consider nominating yourself as a candidate and be part of the Highlands and Island Students’ Association for 2015/16.
How do I get involved?
Nominations opened on Wednesday 18 March and will close at 12noon on Thursday 26 March 2015. Further information on the students’ association, and the election are available from the website : http://www.hisa.uhi.ac.uk
Nomination forms are available to download directly from the HISA website, http://www.hisa.uhi.ac.uk or by email from returningofficer@uhi.ac.uk.
The Returning Officer is Jenny Lees. Depute Returning Officer is Melissa Schouten, assisted by Kevin Sinclair and Helen Anton. The Returning Officers may be contacted at returningofficer@uhi.ac.uk if you would like more information about this election.
There are three positions in this election:
- President £16,337 full-time paid
- Vice President (Higher Education) £16,337 full-time paid
- Vice President (Further Education) £16,337 full-time paid

Schedule of events:
- Nominations open – Wednesday 18 March 2015
- Nominations close – 12 noon, Thursday 26 March 2015
- Campaigns begin – Monday 13 April and end when voting closes
- Candidate question time Thursday 16 April from 1400 – 1600 via VC
- Election days – voting opens at 09.00 on Monday 20 April and closes at 12 noon on Thursday 23 April
- Election results will be announced on Friday 24 April by email
