Hospitality Students Win Big at ScotHot Awards

Perth College UHI is celebrating the fantastic successes of their Hospitality Department Students who won a total of 14 Scottish Culinary Championship Awards at the recent ScotHot Trade Show in Glasgow.

ScotHot is Scotland’s biggest food, drink, hospitality and tourism trade show, held in the Glasgow SECC. It is host to 200 exhibiting companies and welcomes everyone from the world of Hospitality. The Scottish culinary Championships occur every two years and consist of over 50 competitions with more than 200 Hospitality professionals competing.

Perth College UHI Hospitality students were winners in five categories; ‘Napkin Folding’, Lisa Butler (Gold, First in Class), Zornitsa Tenova (Gold), Plamena Kaykova (Silver), Thomasz Belini and Domidor Pacho (Certificate of Merit); ‘Vegetable Preparation’, Tina McGovern (Gold, Best in Class), Hollie Myles (Gold), Kathleen Reid and James Ross (Silver); ‘Chicken for Sauté’, Corey Anderson, Martin Torbet and Michael Allan (Silver); Sarah Miles was awarded two Gold Best in Class Awards for her Novelty Cake and her Celebration Cake.

Congratulations to all the winners who were presented with their medals and certificates at a glittering Awards Lunch at the Hilton in Glasgow on Sunday 22nd March.
