Students in the on-campus accommodation

2024-2025 Applicants
Student Accommodation applications for the academic year September 2024 to May 2025 will open on Monday 1st April at 9am (UK time). Click here to apply for accommodation

Who can apply?

To be eligible to apply for student accommodation:

  • You need to have accepted a conditional or unconditional offer to study on a full-time course, or be a continuing student on a full-time course, which starts September 2024.
  • You must be at least 16 years old by 20 August 2024 – we cannot accept residents under this age.
  • You must be ready for independent living. Students who live in our accommodation are treated as adults. This means they keep their rooms clean, do their own laundry, cook for themselves, and contribute to keeping communal areas tidy.

What happens next?

We usually receive a high volume of applications, so we encourage prospective students to apply early. To manage expectations, we will temporarily close to new applicants at the end of April, while we review applications. Any students who require a specific room for medical reasons may be asked to provide supporting medical evidence of this prior to an offer being made. Accommodation offers will be made in May. If there are any remaining vacancies, we will reopen the application form and post updates to our social media. Once all available rooms have been allocated, eligible applicants will be placed on a waiting list and will be allocated places in the event of cancellations, withdrawals, or upon the release of any unused reserved rooms.

How do you decide who gets a place in the Student Accommodation?

Since we have a limited capacity of 78 places, we cannot guarantee anyone a room. We endeavour to ensure that all applications are treated fairly. When it comes to making offers, we prioritise students using a number of criteria including:

  • Students in their first year of study since leaving school.
  • Students who live a significant distance from the campus.
  • Students who have in-person classes on campus.
  • UHI Perth is also committed to supporting students who are Carers, Care Experienced, or Estranged when possible.
