Seeking Local Homestay Hosts for International Students

Homestay programme reactivated

Residents across Perth and Kinross are being invited to help welcome international students by joining UHI Perth's Homestay Programme.

The college is currently seeking hosts for students who will be studying HND Engineering at the Crieff Road Campus from mid August to 23 January.

The programme offers local households the chance to share their home with a student from overseas, providing a friendly and supportive environment while helping them settle into life in Scotland. It's also an opportunity to learn about different cultures and build lasting international connections.

Hosts receive financial support for providing accommodation, with payments of £215 per week for half-board accommodation or £161 per week for self-catering accommodation.

"Homestay hosts play a vital role in helping international students feel welcome and supported during their studies," said a spokesperson for UHI Perth's International Team. "The experience can be incredibly rewarding, both for students and the families or individuals who host them."

Anyone considering becoming a host, or looking for more information about the scheme, is encouraged to contact homestay.perth@uhi.ac.uk.
