Ready, steady, row!

Eight members of staff from Perth College UHI recently took part in the Great Row to raise funds and awareness for Cancer Research UK.

Katy McKay, Mary Wright, Marie-Christine, Rhona Munro, Catherine Etri, Maureen Paris, Isobel Syme and Jo Burek, decided that they would form two teams and work together to achieve their target of 26.2 miles.

Clocking up the miles in lunch hours, after work and at the weekend, the teams quickly rowed their way to success. They achieved a total mileage of 76.2 miles and raised £1265 for Cancer Research UK.

Mandy Macdonald, Lead Fitness Instructor at the Academy of Sport and Wellbeing, Perth College UH, commented: ‘The teams put in a fantastic effort, it was great to see them exceed their expectations and support them along the way. They absolutely smashed their goals and it was great to have them complete their challenge in the Academy of Sport and Wellbeing. Well done everyone!’
