We help people to move forward and into their own accommodation; working with them to develop the necessary skills to sustain their tenancy as this can be a time of significant change and challenge
Our aim is to prevent and resolve homelessness by supporting people to sustain tenancies. Our approach is trauma informed and person centric with our team working with people to develop their own support plans; based on their individual circumstances and goals

Person Specification:

We deliver life changing quality services. The role of a Support Worker Level 2 (SW2) will be to provide positive, practical and emotional support to people who use our service, focusing on goals, promoting choices and encouraging personal responsibility. The SW2 will also build and maintain effective professional relationships with a range of external partners to ensure support to the people we work with is coordinated and in agreement with identified care plans.

  • Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting Residents, when required, with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, and all other aspects of daily living.
  • Assist in framework of social activities by interacting with Residents and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the Care Home
  • Carry out regular checks on Residents at intervals determined by senior Staff Members.
  • Provide care and support as identified in care reviews and care and support plans, as directed by senior Staff Member

Person Specification:

  • Good communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to communicate effectively with Residents, colleagues, Managers and others
  • A commitment to a service which provides support to vulnerable individuals, and which is respectful and according to the individuals’ wishes
  • Good general education
  • Satisfactory Police Check and check against the PVG List
  • Experience of working in a care/support setting, ideally within learning disability services (highly desirable)

  • Due to the rural location of the site, it is desirable that you have your own transport

Whilst relevant knowledge and experience is welcomed; we provide extensive support and training, meaning that so long as you have the correct attitude and mentality for the position – we can do the rest!

Working Pattern and Holiday Entitlement:

Care shifts are typically 12 hours – 8am-8pm/8pm-8am, though patterns such as 8am-2pm / 4pm-10pm exist too. Other roles are normally ‘standard’ days.

  • F/T = between 33 and 38.5 hours per week / can be as high as 44hrs p/w
  • P/T options can be flexible but normally 22 hours per week

Pay:

£1000 Joining Incentive for Care/Support roles then £10:04 - £10:45 per hour
