Careers Service
When you're making big decisions about your future, like whether to take a course at college or getting the career you want, it's important that you get the right information, advice and guidance.
That's where we come in. From the first time you contact us until after you've left, we can help with guidance about your course, careers available, and your options for progressing onto further study.
One to one appointments are available on request. There will be a number of careers events and workshops run throughout the academic year and class workshops can also be provided on request. Pamela and Ben, our experienced and professionally trained Careers Advisers, are based in the Library and Careers service in the library. Employability resources are located in The Hub on Brahan ground floor, past reception.

Part-time work
Part-time work
As well as a source of extra income, a part-time job helps you to develop the skills that employers are looking for, letting you improve your CV and giving you more to talk about at interviews.
To help you find that job in the first place, we run workshops on CV writing, on interview techniques, and on presenting as effectively as possible to potential employers.
While there are great benefits that make finding part-time work worthwhile, please remember that the National Union of Students recommends you spend no more than 16 hours a week on it in term-time to avoid your grades being affected.
