Our FE Prizegiving took place on Thursday 6 June, 4.30pm, at the College, when we welcomed nearly 400 prizewinners, guests, employers and staff to our campus.

Our Keynote Speaker was John Mason Strang, who graduated from Perth College UHI in 1996, winning the faculty prize for Sport and Recreation. We welcomed him back at our Graduation Ceremony in 2009, where he was awarded the title Alumnus of the year.

John tells us that Perth College UHI was instrumental in inspiring his passion and enthusiasm for the outdoor industry and that after leaving the College he went on to work as a river guide in the South of France for a season. This kick-started a long career on rivers working and qualifying as a raft guide trainer, as well as competing in the world rafting championships for our country.

John set up his own company, "Nae Limits", over 14 years ago. This is now a multi-award winning 4-star activity centre, highlighted by a global Mintel study as one of the leading extreme sports suppliers in Europe. The business has evolved and has developed into other innovative activities, such as Highland Fling - the UK's first and only permanent bridge bungee, with a second permanent jump on the famous historical Titan crane in Glasgow.
