Air Service Training Ltd (AST), a wholly owned subsidiary of Perth College UHI, has taken delivery of an additional helicopter. The aircraft, an Agusta 109, will be used in its training hangar based at Perth airport to train engineers from around the world.

Mike Haufe, AST Senior Manager Training said: “The Agusta 109 is a fine addition to our existing training aircraft fleet, and will allow students to undertake practical ‘hands-on’ training on modern helicopter structures and systems.”

Scotland’s only approved aircraft engineer licence training organisation, AST delivers world-class training in aeroplanes and avionics at its main facility in Perth and at sites worldwide. The company won a Queens Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2015, and recently offered two scholarships, awarded to applicants from Balmullo and Perth, to celebrate its 85th anniversary in 2016.

Since 1996 AST has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Perth College UHI, and together the two organisations deliver a wide range of aviation awards, both professional and academic.
