How are you managing work-life balance?

I am in the lucky position of having Fridays off. After bringing up 2 kids (now adults!) on my own, Friday has always been "my day" and I try to plan something enjoyable for at least part of the day that always includes a walk or a run.

How has your exercise routine changed? What are you doing differently and do you enjoy it even more or less?

I did more strength and core stuff before. I find it hard to motivate myself to do this without classes. My running goes up and down depending on the state of the arthritis in my knees and feet. I definitely doing more walking since getting my wee rescue dog.

What keeps you motivated?

Exercising with a buddy. Also, I'm in denial about my age - determined not to get "old" …and I love my food!

Have you signed up to any challenges/ set any goals/ achieved any PB’s/ completed any challenges recently?

I set myself a 5k time challenge to achieve by my birthday in January - just made it! Time for a new one. I’ve done a couple of virtual races too.

What advice would you give to others who are looking to become more active?

Definitely set small realistic goals. Don't put pressure on yourself by saying "I’m going to exercise every day for an hour". Try 20 mins every second day, then gradually increase it. And approach it with the right mindset; tell yourself “it’s a beautiful day, I’m going to enjoy this walk”,  or “ I know its pouring rain, but I’m going to feel great when this run is finished”!
