In 2019, the UK music industry contributed £5.8 billion to the UK economy – up 11% from £5.2 billion in 2018 and employment in the industry hit an all-time high of 197,168 in 2019 – an increase of 3% from 190,935 in 2018” (UK Music, 2020)

Following the global pandemic sectors within the creative industries, especially music and live events face a huge challenge to restore themselves to pre-Covid levels of achievement

Our courses provide a bridge to sustainable employment and the development of artist and practitioner identities, with transferable skills that can be employed in other sectors.

  • Have the opportunity to gain experience through projects are held regularly throughout the academic year, on campus and in venues across Scotland and abroad. Previous students have completed exchange visits with Linnaeus University (Sweden) and participated in student workshops at Pop Akademie (Germany).
