working with NGOs and on to PhD study

"I completed my distance learning, part-time Masters in 2010 after four years and in the midst of having a baby, but I don't regret it for a second. The flexible working style and the interesting variety of module options, combined with the continuous online support, suited my lifestyle very well. My career is now directly built upon this Masters qualification.

Since completion, I have been involved with a number of NGO's and charities concerned with wild land in Scotland. I have worked on topics involving wild land management, biodiversity, wild land awareness and on a more practical level as a conservation officer on Ben Nevis. More recently, I started a PhD with Edinburgh University and the Centre of Mountain Studies looking at Future Land Use Visions for Scotland, which I am really enjoying.

I would certainly recommend the course to anyone, and in fact have done so on numerous occasions!"
