The Perth College Development Trust raised over £5k and secured project funding through the PKC Cost of Living Community Fund to help students struggling over the Christmas holidays.

Dr Margaret Cook, Perth College UHI Principal said: “Thanks to all the donors who have supported the project and responded to this urgent appeal. We would also like to thank Kenny Simpson for donating food, toiletries and clothing.

“We will be offering free snacks and refreshments in the form of tea, coffee, biscuits and pot noodles, pot pastas and cuppa soups. Toiletries and a clothes bank will be available, as well as the opportunity to have a hot shower. There will also be the chance to join in a range of activities such as exercises and board games.”

The warm space is part of the College’s ‘The Big Project’. This initiative run by the Student Engagement Team, Hospitality and other volunteers ensure that pickup points on campus are stocked with food, toiletries, and clothing for anyone to access.
