Students support local groups

NC Administration students held a number of events to benefit local groups as part of their coursework. The groups the students chose to support included the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA). Fiona Dennis, Charity Event Organiser from the charity accepted £297 from the student’s three-legged walk around the North Inch, which took place on a cold and wet day.

A bake sale was also held on the College campus, raising a further £358 for the SCAA. Fiona commended the student group for their efforts for setting up Just Giving pages which enabled the charity to claim Gift Aid to boost the overall total donated.

They also held a bake sale which featured traditional Polish baked goods such as Karpatka Cakes for Perth Autism Support, raising £129 to provide entertainment activities for supported families.

Finally, a 10km sponsored walk was embarked on and a tombola was held in College, raising £297 for CHAS, received by Alison Rennie from the charity.

Isla Kinnear, Lecturer explained: “The 2 groups in NC Administration raised £785 for three charities through the work they completed for the Event Organisation unit. The unit demands that the students demonstrate a number of skills such as ideas creation, problem solving, communication and team working, as well as organisation and administration skills, all excellent skills to assist them in their future studies and careers.”
