Acting and Theatre Performance NQ Level 6
What is special about this course?
This dynamic and engaging introductory course enables students to develop their interest in theatre and performance with an emphasis on Musical Theatre. This highly practical course builds and develops fundamental skills which will enable students to gain a working knowledge of musical theatre disciplines with a view to progressing to HND Musical Theatre year 1. Areas of study include; Acting, Voice, Movement, Singing Skills and Performance.
Successful completion of NQ Musical Theatre and will be given priority consideration for entry to the HND Musical Theatre.
Entry requirements
Entry is by audition/interview. Candidates will participate in a rigorous audition/interview process which will allow them to demonstrate their current skill level.
Previous Performance and Theatre experience desirable but not essential.
Qualifications at SQA National 5 desirable.

Most full-time students will have their fees paid.
Students on part-time courses may also be eligible to have their course fees waived.
What can I do on completion of my course?
Successful completion of NQ Musical Theatre and will be given priority consideration for entry to the HND Musical Theatre.
It is anticipated that the majority of those achieving the National Qualification in Acting and Theatre Performance may articulate with HN Acting and Performance or Drama related programmes. However, it is recognised that successful candidates could possibly find employment in the following areas:
- Performing (Drama, Dance, Music Theatre)
- Arts promotion/management
- Teaching
