Sport, Health and Outdoor Education
UHI Perth offer a wide range of courses including sports coaching and development, physical activity and health, sports therapy and rehabilitation, outdoor education and and adventure sports coaching.
We deliver courses from SCQF level 5 to Degree with honours (SCQF level 10) and
will have a course to match your career ambitions. Almost all provision takes place
within the Academy of Sport and Wellbeing (ASW). This on-campus facility hosts
our Climbing Centre, Sports Therapy Training Clinic, Strength and Conditioning
Suite, Sports Science Research Lab as well as up-to-date sport and gym facilities.
We also offer opportunities to undertake professional qualifications and residentials,
some of which are embedded in the curriculum; others are optional, requiring financial
contribution from students. We work in close partnership across the sector with a number of professional/governing bodies of sport including: Badminton Scotland, Netball Scotland, Basketball Scotland, Scottish Hockey, Cricket Scotland, Scottish Volleyball, Scottish Canoe Association, Scottish Football Association and Mountaineering Scotland, Sports Massage Association, Scottish Massage Therapists Organisation, ACTIVE IQ, CIMSPA and RLSS UK.
The natural landscape offers the perfect learning environment, our students get hands-on experience in one of the most beautiful settings in Scotland. We work in partnership with Willowgate Activity Centre, allowing all our students to experience a range of outdoor activities, skills and paddle-sports.
