The creative sector in Scotland employs around 70,000 people with approximately 14,000 enterprises generating revenue in excess of £3billion.
Our courses provide a springboard to employment within this creative and diverse sector.
Within our creative learning environment, you can access outstanding music performance and business programmes – both routes leading to sustainable career opportunities in today’s music industry.
We aim to give you a comprehensive view of the music industry, from artist development, promoting gigs and music festivals if you follow the music business route and performing in our campus theatre and at local festivals and venues on our music performance courses.
Students benefit from guest lectures representing industry organisations, including Universal Music, PRS For Music, Vic Galloway (BBC Broadcaster, Presenter and Journalist), Keith Harris (Stevie Wonder’s Manager), Idlewild, Frightened Rabbit, Glasvegas and Perth Music Expo. Opportunities for students are available to gain experience through projects held regularly throughout the academic year, on campus and in venues across Scotland.
If you’ve been thinking about studying Music Business - but wanted to hear first-hand what the Perth College UHI experience is like - then continue reading to meet three of our students.
We caught up with NC Music student, Chloe Maidment, to find out a bit more about her - and to learn more about her time at Perth College UHI.
