I was born in Walbrzych, Poland, and I have been living in Scotland for 4 years. Before I came to college, I had worked as a school cleaner.
My best friend recommended UHI Perth as a great place to start my journey as a mature student. I chose the ESOL course as I wanted to polish up my language skills and become more confident in speaking.
What I like most about the ESOL course is my fantastic classmates, the supportive teachers and the variety of topics we are talking about. I have met brilliant people who are my close friends now.
My course has allowed me to gain self confidence in my language skills, which is priceless for when I apply for a better job. After I finish my course, I am going to study NC Administration.
Being a full time student, and working part time in the evenings, can be a little challenging but I can manage it.
My advice is to take advantage of this time 100%. Set your goals and follow them, and be curious and open minded.
