Some of the country's most celebrated chefs, including Andrew Fairlie from Andrew Fairlies at Gleneagles and Tom Kitchin from The Kitchin in Edinburgh, have learned to cook at UHI Perth.

We take great pride in our student's training - combining academic learning with practical, hands-on experience in our on-campus kitchens and restaurants, including our award-winning Treetops Training Restaurant.

We believe our students deserve the best environment to develop their skills, which is why we ensure the practical training is as authentic and industry-focused as possible. Our strong connections with hospitality professionals further enhance the learning experience, equipping our students with the knowledge and expertise needed to excel in some of the industry's top hotels.

Students on professional cookery and hospitality courses make it all happen. By dining with us, you are directly supporting our students’ learning, as proceeds from the menu prices go towards covering the cost of produce and enabling hands-on training in a real restaurant environment.

For Term 2025-26, our Treetops Training Restaurant is open:

  • Tuesday Dinner: 5:30 - 9pm (Booking times between 5:30 - 6:15pm). Enjoy a three-course set dinner menu, including tea, coffee and petit fours, priced at £27 per person.
  • Wednesday Lunch: Noon - 2pm (Booking times between noon and 12:45pm). Enjoy a three-course set lunch menu, including tea and coffee, priced at £17 per person.

  • December at Treetops: In December, we will also be running our popular Christmas Shop open from Tuesday 2 - Friday 5 December 9am–3pm.

Booking Information

  • New customers: The first time you use DishCult there are a few steps to follow, but once completed, future bookings are quick and straightforward.
  • Existing customers: DishCult may ask you to reconfirm your details the first time you use it again this academic term. After that, bookings will be simple.
  • Tip: When booking online, please click on the timing and scroll down to view all available time slots (it may initially say no availability, but if you scroll down through the time slots, you’ll see available times).
