What is special about this course?
Market research confirms that a happy customer tends to be a customer for life. Bad service, on the other hand, costs the company lost sales. The aim of this course is to enable people employed in any organisation dealing with both internal and external customers, to improve their working practices and confidence by developing skills, knowledge and understanding of excellent customer service.
Gaining a vocational qualification in customer service while working will help you improve your level of skill and may help you move your career forward.
You must be in relevant employment.
The national standards for this award are set by the Institute of Customer Service. You will create a portfolio of evidence to prove that you have appropriate knowledge and understanding to carry out your job competently. You will be guided and supported throughout the programme by a workplace mentor.
As you can undertake this qualification in your own place of work, the flexibility of the course also enables you to fit training around work commitments and your individual lifestyle. You will be continuously assessed throughout each unit.

- Provide customer service within the role;
- Understand customer service to improve delivery;
- Knowing the rules when developing customer service

Most full-time students will have their fees paid.
Students on part-time courses may also be eligible to have their course fees waived.
What can I do on completion of my course?
On completion of the SVQ 2 you can progress onto Customer Service SVQ 3, depending upon your job role.
