The SVQ 3 will provide you with advanced knowledge and technical skills in hairdressing which you can use to find work at a supervisory level. As part of the course you will also have the chance to express your creativity by participating in demonstrations and contributing to the end-of-year hair show. You will carry out a range of advanced hairdressing services on real clients in our modern salon under supervision. Seminars, demonstrations and workshops from employers are delivered throughout the year adding value to this course.
Applicants should have a SCQF Level 5 qualification in Hairdressing or relevant hairdressing experience e.g. three years training in a salon. You should have good communications skills and show attention to personal presentation. For non-English speaking students literacy Level 2 is a requirement. All applicants selected for interview will be required to undertake a diagnostic test which includes a written statement and a practical activity. The selection process will include a discussion of your application at interview and you should be able to demonstrate a clear interest in pursuing a career in this field.

Most full-time students will have their fees paid.
Students on part-time courses may also be eligible to have their course fees waived.
This course can provide progression onto PDA Innovative Hair Design.
