What is special about this course?

This SCQF Level 6 NQ Fabrication and Welding Course will provide you with the engineering knowledge and practical skills in fabrication and welding that you need to progress your engineering journey.

Entry requirements

  • Three national 5 qualifications including Maths, English and a technical/science subject
  • SQA Skills for Work in Engineering or NPA Engineering would also be an advantage
  • NQ/NC Fabrication and Welding at SCQF 5 or NC/NQ Engineering Practice at SCQF 5
  • Satisfactory interview

Applicants will be invited to interview and may be asked to undertake a short diagnostic exercise.

You will study a mix of technical, theory and practical component in our well-equipped engineering department.  As well as skills in a range of welding applications, you will gain knowledge in fabrication process, welding specification and testing, computer aided draughting underpinned by relevant theory, health and safety procedures and develop your meta skills.

Students on part-time courses may also be eligible to have their course fees waived.
