What is special about this course?

This course provides you with an ideal route towards a career in Science and technology or into health-related studies such as: nursing, physiotherapy, biomedical science, podiatry and speech therapy.

Entry requirements

An SCQF level 5 in Applied Science or equivalent, or appropriate SCQF level 5 qualifications in Chemistry and Biology. Other qualifications may be considered.  The interview process will include a discussion of your application and you should be able to show a clear interest in pursuing a career in this field.

You will study a range of Science subjects at SCQF level 5 and 6, including Chemistry, Biology and Human Biology, Physics and Environmental Science, as well as units in Maths, ICT and Communication.  You will also gain practical laboratory experience in experimental procedures and Microbiology.

Most full-time students will have their fees paid.

Students on part-time courses may also be eligible to have their course fees waived.

The course provides the skills and knowledge required for progression to successful higher level study, including HNC Applied Science and Science related degrees both within UHI Perth as well as level 7 study in other institutions.
