What is special about this course?
Gateway 2 Creative Industries provides you with a first step into the sector and allows you to ease into studying, focusing on both your chosen subject and the development of your personal and social skills. The course can be a bridge to NC study in Art and Sound Engineering, helping you to make the transition to higher levels of education with confidence and success.
Entry requirements
Entrance to this course is by interview. Recommended requirements are qualifications at SCQF Level 4 or equivalent. For applicants who do not have certification at level 4, a short diagnostic written test will be required.
Enthusiasm and self-motivation and creativity are also required.
Applicants should also be able to work in a group.
You must be able to travel independently or make your own arrangements for travel.
Core subjects include: core skills, including communication, ICT and numeracy; personal development including wellbeing and volunteering; creative subjects including sound production, digital audio workstations, art and design, and creative media.

Students on part-time courses may also be eligible to have their course fees waived.

Upon successful completion, you may be able to move on to NC within the Creative Industries sector.
The course prepares you for a variety of employment opportunities within the music industry including: small scale sound engineer; music performer; small scale music producer (computerised) and private tutor.
