Entry requirements

You will be invited to discuss your application with us, but SCQF Level 4/5 Maths and Physics is desired, and English would be an advantage. Your application and interview will form part of the selection process. You can progress to this course from NQ Basic Engineering Skills.

You will have the chance to study a range of subjects including electrical workshop skills, electrical principles, electrical testing and measurement, safe working practices, electrical systems and electronic systems.

Fees

Most full-time students will have their fees paid.

Students on part-time courses may also be eligible to have their course fees waived.

What can I do on completion of my course?

NQ students can progress by gaining employment and returning as an Electrical Installation Apprentice or onto study at NQ level 6 or HE level.

Students who can gain relevant employment can return as an electrical installation apprentice. There is significant demand and shortage for electrical engineers specifically within the oil and gas sector and within renewables.
