What is special about this course?
This course will allow you to develop practical skills which will provide a grounding for a career within beauty and related industries. The NC is a national qualification that should be recognised by any potential employer as a measure of your abilities.
Three qualifications at SQA National 4 or 5 including English, and preferably a science subject. You should enjoy working with people and have a bright, friendly personality. Your application and interview will form part of the selection process.
The course is delivered over one year and covers many of the key subjects needed for a career in beauty therapy, including:
- Facial and eye treatments;
- Customer care;
- Body massage;
- Human biology;
- Core Skills;
- Hand and foot treatments
The emphasis is on practical skills with underpinning theory.

Face to face teaching; practical hands on; independent study and online support materials; case studies and reflective writing.

Most full-time students will have their fees paid.
Students on part-time courses may also be eligible to have their course fees waived.
What can I do on completion of my course?
You may be able to progress onto the HNC/D Beauty Therapy course at the College.
This level of qualification could help you find work in a beauty or health salon.
