Beauty Care and Make Up NC

What is special about this course?

This course will allow you to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding of the beauty sector and related industries. The NC is a national qualification that should be recognised by any potential employer as a measure of your abilities and should allow for employment in a junior role within the beauty industry.

Entry requirements

Two qualifications at SQA National 1, 2 or 3 or other relevant qualification or experience. Your application and interview will form part of the selection process.

This course is delivered over one year and covers a wide range of subjects needed for a career in beauty therapy, including:

  • Facial treatments;
  • Manicure;
  • Back, neck and shoulder massage;
  • Waxing treatments;
  • Make-up

The emphasis is on practical skills which demonstrate underpinning theory.

Fees

Most full-time students will have their fees paid.

Students on part-time courses may also be eligible to have their course fees waived.

What can I do on completion of my course?

You may be able to progress onto our NC Beauty Care Level 6 course.

You should be able to find work within a beauty or health salon at a junior level.
