If you are interested in improving the wellbeing of others, the HND Beauty Therapy will help you achieve your ambitions to work in the beauty industry.
You will gain the necessary skills and experience to succeed in the field of beauty therapy, both nationally and internationally.
You may also have the opportunity to participate in the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival with students from other UHI campuses.

Entry requirements
- 2 Scottish Highers at grade C or above OR
- 2 A levels at grade D or above
- Preferably in English or a science related subject, plus
- 3 National 5 qualifications or 3 Standard Grades 1, 2 or 3, or an SCQF Level 6 programme, or equivalent
- Entry to year 2 may be possible with an HNC Beauty Therapy
- Prospective students without the standard entry requirements are encouraged to apply and will be considered on an individual basis
- You will be required to attend an interview as part of the selection process and may be asked to perform an assessment task
Access routes
- HNC Beauty Therapy may allow direct access to year two of the HND
Year 1 - HNC
Mandatory units are:
- Beauty therapy: applied anatomy and physiology
- Beauty therapy: face and body treatment packages
- Beauty therapy: professional salon skills
- Beauty therapy: graded unit 1
Optional subjects may include:
- Beauty therapy: depilation
- Beauty therapy: face and body electrotherapy
- Beauty therapy: facial therapy treatments
- Beauty therapy: hand, foot and nail therapies
- Body massage treatments
