How will I study my course?

Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

Our priority is to provide a safe learning environment for all students and staff. We will continue to review government guidance as lockdown measures shift over the next few months and will inform you of any further changes to the information provided below about your course. You will study the course through our blended learning approach. In semester one, September 2020, the theory elements will mainly be delivered online through a combination of video conference seminars, tutor-supported study and self-directed study using the university's virtual learning environment. You will also have the opportunity to do an online induction at the start of the course. Practical sessions will be introduced in line with the developing Scottish Government public health measures and guidance, including social distancing. We will further be guided by SQA and the industry sector council as to the measures needed to complete the practical elements of the course. We hope to have some practical sessions in semester one, however it is likely the majority will be in semester two (from January 2021). Where this is not possible alternative options will be available.
  • Full-time
  • Part-time (structured)
  • You will study by way of face-to-face lectures and tutorials in the classroom and practical exercise in a salon environment

What our students, graduates and staff say

I chose this course because I always wanted to learn more about the beauty industry. While my focus was on
learning bridal make-up, I also enjoyed learning other
practical aspects such as massage, reflexology, nails
and facials. I am currently working in a spa and this
qualification will help further my opportunities within the
beauty industry.

My plans are to continue working in the spa to
build up my experience; eventually I’d like to set
up my own business, specialising in baby and
pregnancy massage.

Kerri Lawson graduated with an HND Beauty Therapy from our Perth College UHI campus
