This entry level course is a great place to start if you are interested in repairing cars. A hands on practical introduction to vehicle servicing skills and system repair skills will enable you to gain the basic skills and knowledge to carry out vehicle maintenance and body repair.
There are no formal entry requirements, but you will be asked to undertake an aptitude test and to discuss your application with a member of college staff.
This pre-apprenticeship programme enables you to gain basic skills and knowledge with repairs on engines, brakes, cooling, steering, tyres, exhausts, fuel, transmission and suspension systems. Students are expected to use theory classes, online training packages and independent study to gain the underpinning knowledge.
Face to face teaching; practical hands on; online and independent study.
Most full-time students will have their fees paid.
Students on part-time courses may also be eligible to have their course fees waived.
On successful completion you may progress to our Level 5 Diploma awards.
Many students progress into employment in the motor industry through our apprenticeship programme, as this is a designed pre-apprentice programme.
