This PDA Trauma Informed Approaches (SCQF level 7) allows you to gain knowledge and understanding of trauma, including the causes and impact of trauma on an individual. You will also learn the importance of being an informed practitioner, enabling you to support individuals affected by trauma.

Entry requirements

  • You should have qualifications at SCQF level 6 or above, or equivalent
  • You should also have demonstrable paid or voluntary experience supporting those with current or prior trauma

Year 1 - PDA

You will study the following core modules:

  • Childhood trauma
  • Organisational approaches to trauma
  • Therapeutic approaches to trauma
  • What is trauma? An introduction

  • You will learn through a combination of video-conference lectures and tutorials, and online study via the university's virtual learning environment (VLE), with support from your tutors

  • Part-time (structured): 1 years @ 4-8 hours per week
