The MSc Sustainable Mountain Development is an online, part-time interdisciplinary programme with exit awards at Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert), Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip), and MSc levels.
The programme offers you advanced theory and practice to give you a clear understanding of the complex issues of mountain areas. You will engage with aspects of practice common to many disciplines and situations, and apply your newly acquired skills to your areas of expertise and interest.
Individual modules deal with social, environmental, economic, and professional devlopment issues in mountains areas. Experts from across the UHI help equip you with a qualification tailored for working in mountain areas.
Can't commit to the full programme? Individual modules such as the Sustainable Deer Management module can also be taken for continuing professional development.
Our graduates can expect to find employment in local and national government agencies and international environment and conservation organisations. Former students have also developed their careers as environmental and rural development consultants.
The programme has unique international recognition as an activity of the UNESCO Chair in Sustainable Mountain Development.
