HNC/D in Fitness, Health and Exercise - Fitness is a passion of Kirsty’s, and she has turned her hobby into a career.
“I feel lucky to have the opportunity to turn my hobby into a career. Fitness is a passion of mine and I decided to study at Perth College UHI as it’s local to me and offered the most suitable course. “Our class got on very well from the very start of the year and so we organised different events together. We entered Tough Mudder and travelled to Blackpool for a weekend to attend a fitness convention, this was an amazing experience.
I’ve taken advantage of opportunities including a volunteer placement with the Strathtay Harriers, sitting my Indoor Group Cycling qualification and gaining my SIA badge allowing me to work at the Glasgow
Commonwealth Games. My best achievement was when I won the Student Rep of the Year award. This meant a lot to me as it was recognition of how hard I had worked. I’m now also a Fitness Instructor Live Active Leisure, in Perth.
I plan to continue with my studies and possibly progress to the BSc (Hons) Sport and Fitness degree. In the future, I’d love to either lecture in colleges or enter the police.”
