What are you studying at Perth College UHI?

HND Fitness, Health and Exercise

What is your main passion?

Keeping fit and doing exercise. I also love food and cooking along with travelling and visiting new places. Can’t beat a game of FIFA either!!

What are your future aspirations in your chosen field?

I am hoping to progress onto the Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Sport and Fitness. I would then like to go to work in a sports team, working with athletes, helping them to improve their strength and fitness.

Who is your sporting role model?

My sporting role model is Frank Lampard, a Chelsea FC Legend, one of the best midfielders the premier league has ever seen, scoring over 200 goals in all competitions. Has gone on to manage Chelsea after just one season at Derby County. Young and ambitious, laying down a philosophy of giving young players a chance.

What is your favourite sporting moment?

My favourite sporting moment was the Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury boxing match on December 1, 2018, in Los Angeles. Tyson Fury was denied one of the greatest comebacks in history after judges’ score the fight a draw (he should have won). Tyson was in deep depression and 10 stone heavier just one year prior, which made his performance on that night even more amazing!

Why should students get involved in sport and fitness programmes at Perth College UHI?

The facilities are new and amazing. Everything you need in a gym and to study sport and fitness. The lecturers are supportive and have a very engaging way of teaching. The course is very practical with enthusiastic students which makes them a fun learning environment.
