Irene Lawrie

Following my graduation from Perth College UHI in 2010 with a First Class Honours Degree in Social Sciences I have lectured in Psychology, Sociology and Criminology from intermediate 2 to the second year of the BA Social Sciences programme (level 8).  In addition to this I have lectured for Health and Social Care in Psychology, Sociology and Social Policy at both FE and HE levels.

My principal research interest is Mindset theory and its influence on academic performance.  I am currently active, with colleagues in the department, in researching links between mental toughness and student achievement, and the implementation of intervention to increase mental toughness.
