Some of the country's most celebrated chefs, including Andrew Fairlie from Andrew Fairlies at Gleneagles and Tom Kitchin from The Kitchin in Edinburgh, have learned to cook at Perth College UHI.
We're really proud of the training we give to our students. It's the perfect mix of academic learning and hands-on experience in our very own kitchens and restaurants.
We know our students deserve the best environment to learn their skills, and that's why we make the training side of courses as realistic as possible. We also have very strong links with hospitality professionals, so our students know that they're getting the knowledge needed to work for some of the best hotels in the industry.
As well as the chance to work in fine dining with the public in our training restaurant, our students also get to work in our Food Court.
This is a fast-paced restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and evening meals to staff and students, run in a unique partnership with one of the world's largest catering companies, Sodexo.
So the experience our students get here will prepare them for working anywhere.
Our award-winning training restaurant in Perth is twice-winner of the "Best College Restaurant in Scotland and Northern Ireland", so when you come here to eat you'll experience something pretty special.
Students on catering and hospitality courses make it all happen, and do everything from providing you with a warm welcome to preparing and serving the dishes on our carefully prepared menu, using as much local and healthy produce as possible.
These delicious meals are available at seriously affordable prices during term-time, so you really should book your table early.
Restaurant open to the public
Our Training Restaurant is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Thursdays we are offering a table d'hote menu and on Fridays a Bistro style lunch.
Service is available from noon to 1.15pm.
Due to popular demand, dinners are still available on Tuesdays, offering a tasty selection of themed evenings. Service is from 6–7pm.
