Presentation and poster guidelines

Parallel Session themes, dates and timings

We will email you to confirm the time and date of your presentation once times have been scheduled for each presentation.  In the meantime, you can check the session in which your presentation has been included as follows:

  • Log into our online submission system, with your original Email Address and Password
  • Here you will see your accepted abstract(s).
  • Click on ‘Summary’ and you will be able to view the Session under ‘Categories’
  • You can view the full list of sessions here

Oral presentations

Oral presenters are allocated 15 minutes each. Within this time, you should allow for:

  • a 12 minute presentation
  • 3 minutes of questions and discussions

If you use a PowerPoint presentation, please bring this to the conference on a USB memory stick.  It will not be possible for presenters to use their own laptops

All presentations should be prepared using Microsoft PowerPoint Version 2010 (for use on a PC – not a Mac).

Presentations will be uploaded by conference staff on the day they will be presented.  Further instructions will be provided at the conference.

All talks must be in English (there will be no translation facilities available).

Round Table presentations

If you have been accepted for a Round Table presentation, your Session Chair will contact you to confirm the session format.

Posters

The maximum size for a poster is:

  • A0 in portrait format (horizontal 841 mm x vertical 1189 mm), or
  • A1 in landscape format (841mm horizontal x 594mm vertical)

There is no set format for producing your poster, however, you may find this link useful:

Please bring your poster when you register.

Posters will be displayed throughout the conference. There will also be a specific poster session in the afternoon of Monday 5 October, from 1615 – 1800.  Authors will be asked to stand beside their posters for 45 minutes to answer any questions from other delegates.

A poster competition will be held during the poster session and a small prize will be awarded for the best poster.

If you have any queries about preparing your presentation,

please contact the Conference Secretariat: mountains.2015.perth@uhi.ac.uk.
