I am from Perth and before coming to college, I was working night-shifts at a local delivery company.
I decided to come to UHI Perth as I felt it was time to start aiming towards a career instead of continuing with my dead end night shift job. This course was perfect for me as it gave me many career options in construction and it allowed me to have a taster before I made a decision on which way I would go within the construction industry.
I like everything about the course as I have learnt so much, but painting and decorating is by far my favourite. I was also given work experience from one of my lecturers which will hopefully help me to get employment.
My course will help me to get the job that I want as I have already had a head start with the knowledge and experience I have gained.
After I leave college, I plan to achieve a painting and decorating apprenticeship.
