With an increasing need for people to be aware of themselves, their health and wellbeing, this course aims to teach competencies and skills that allow the learner to increase their own resilience and understand the impact of stressors on their and others health and wellbeing. The course aim and focus are to prepare candidates with an introductory skill set and understanding on employment and career opportunities within the health and wellbeing sector.

Your travel costs will be covered and lunches will be provided during the course.

Free Childcare Support will be available subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.

You will learn a wide range of practical skills including:

  • Mindset
  • Wellness Therapies
  • Massage/hand massage techniques
  • Psychological Theory: part 1 and 2
  • Exploring and Improving Wellbeing
  • Values and principles in Health
  • Managing Stress and Stress Relief Techniques

After completing the course you could go on to work in areas like:

  • Employment opportunities within the health care sector
  • Employment opportunities within holistic, wellbeing or beauty therapy sector
  • Further training or college courses within the health, care, holistic, wellbeing or beauty therapy subject areas

  • Course commences – January 2023 (6 week course)
  • 3 days a week - Monday, Thursday and Friday - face to face delivery on college campus.
  • Placement will be within Beauty Therapy Commercial Salon setting and working alongside Work Based Assessors set within the Health and Care setting.

This course is suitable for:

  • 16-19 year olds who are currently not working
  • Parents in work or out of work (please note eligible parents must have children aged 20 or under)
