School/College Delivery Update Monday 8th March

content

This week, the Scottish Government published the Coronavirus (COVID-19): phased return to in-person learning in schools and ELC settings of in school learning from 15 March.  The Scottish Government Covid-19 Strategic Framework Update, includes guidance to enable up to 5% of college students attending classes in College.  This will enable us to have very small numbers of students on campus for essential practical learning.  We are also working with guidance that allows one student in one establishment (college or school) in any one day.

We are working alongside PKC schools staff to identify any schools college course students that are required to attend in college and will continue to work closely with the schools to stay within the 5% (in college) and 8% (in school) criteria.  This may mean that a very small number of students will return to campus however, we will continue to engage with Scottish Government along with colleagues across the College and Schools to seek further detail as this emerges.  In the meantime, all other classes continue to be delivered online until the guidance enables a larger number of students on campus at any one time.  Unless advised by your school or lecturer, please continue to engage online.  We hope to be able to update everyone further at the end of April.

We have over the last few weeks issued Home Study kits to Hospitality, Sport and Beauty Therapy students and hope that this is helping their programme of study at home.
