Perth College UHI has offered Foundation Apprenticeships to pupils across the region for four years, after taking part in the pilot programme in 2015.

 

Engineering

What Megan Gordon says:

I decided to come to Perth College UHI because it provides great courses. I chose this course as I want to be a Mechanical Engineer and felt this course would be helpful. I enjoyed the practical elements as well as working in workshops. In the future I hope to do a Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering or study Aeronautical Engineering.

Social Services (Children and Young People)

What Fern Thomson says:

I decided to come to Perth College UHI because of all the opportunities it presents. The reason for choosing this course was that I wanted to pursue a career in Childcare. What I liked most about the course was the independence it gave me and the trust the lecturers had in me.

What Megan MacKenzie says:

I chose to study this course at Perth College UHI because I thought the Foundation Apprenticeship is a great opportunity. I was also interested in learning more about Childcare to further my career.

Photography

What Gavin Chang says:

I have always had an interest in Photography. I liked the class and was able to learn more about cameras and photographs. I plan on becoming a Fashion Photographer or a Crime Scene Photographer once I leave Perth College UHI.

What Kendal Kidd says:

I like to be creative and enjoy capturing life. What I liked most about this course was the social aspect along with learning new ways of making my photographs more appealing to others. Once I leave Perth College UHI I hope to be a Pathologist or a Crime Scene Photographer.

Civil Engineering

I decided to come to Perth College UHI because it is close to home and I want to have good experiences. The reason for choosing this course was that I want to become a Civil Engineer. I enjoyed everything about the course but the specific things we were taught about Civil Engineering were really interesting.

The reason I chose to study the Civil Engineering, Foundation Apprenticeship was because I found it exciting and it was perfect for me. The things I liked most about the course were; the activities, the classmates, lecturers and the general time I spent there.

Creative and Digital Media

I decided to come to Perth College UHI because of their good reputation for creative courses including that it was close to home. I wanted to do something creative that also involved technology. I liked taking photographs and editing them.

Business Skills

What Maryam Aziz says:

I wanted to complete the Foundation Apprenticeship in Business Skills as a stepping stone to enable me to study International Business in the future. I found that the coursework was manageable and my teachers and classmates were good to get along with.

What Oliver Roe says:

My reason for coming to Perth College UHI was that I wanted a change in learning environment. I am interested in Business as a career and most enjoyed the computer work. I plan on continuing with a Modern Apprenticeship in the future.
