Foundation Apprenticeship Creative and Digital Media
Caitlin is currently undertaking the second year of the Foundation Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media and is on placement with Culture Perth and Kinross. On her work experience placement she is covering a wide range of activities including marketing and creating a digital exhibition for Perth Museum.
I have found the second year of my Foundation Apprenticeship slightly more hectic when it comes to doing course work but really good at the same time. It's something that's out of my comfort zone as I'm in a different environment compared to being in the college every Friday.
The staff in both the museum and library are so lovely and I've enjoyed finding out what goes on behind the scenes at Culture Perth and Kinross. It's an incredible experience going into a work place you're not so familiar with, learning what really goes into the content they produce and who's who within the team. It's also a great chance to develop new skills in a working environment as well.
After school I’m hoping to have a career in something related to drama. I feel that going on placement has helped improve my confidence, and I've developed team working and communication skills throughout the course.
