Industry Information

In Scotland alone,  there are around 17,000 engineering companies, employing over 125,000 people, with a £30,000 average salary; and senior engineers making £56,000 – and upwards. It is expected that nearly 80,000 engineering jobs will arise each year. Major employers that are within an hour of Perth include SSE, Babcock and Ineos. With oil and gas production coming to an end with several North Sea rigs, Dundee is ideally placed to attract a large amount of work decommissioning the rigs.
