About this course

The course has been designed to provide an introductory beauty qualification with a blend of theory and practical based learning. The focus is on experiencing the salon environment and on the development of vocational skills, knowledge and understanding which is essential for the beauty therapy industry. You will practice communication and customer care skills within a salon environment. You will develop specific skills in cleansing, toning, moisturising, basic face massage, masque application and removal, skin warming, exfoliation, nail shaping, cuticle care, hand massage and nail painting and basic make-up application techniques. Emphasis throughout all units is on the employability skills and attitudes which will help to prepare candidates for the workplace.

This course is for S5/S6 pupils. There are no formal entry requirements for this course but you will be invited to attend an interview with a College member of staff to discuss your application.
