Renowned industry practitioners will participate in an exciting schedule of programmes that centre on innovation, education, and the expanding issues confronting the music industries.
It will offer UHI Perth students and school pupils from the local area who wish to work in the music business the chance to network, share expertise, and initiate opportunities with each other, and those already working in the field.
The promotion of accessibility and inclusivity, in addition to ensuring that everyone has a forum for conversation and a chance to learn, is a key component of this event.

14:00 - Creative Carbon Scotland seminar
This session will explore making the music industry more sustainable. Creative Carbon Scotland will discuss a project they are currently working on with Dr Matt Brennan at the University of Glasgow. This project aims to identify what the city’s music sector needs to thrive in the future and investigate what role music and culture can play in a broader, just and green transition. This project has so far cumulated in a mapping of venues and sustainable transport in the city and a social network mapping of music venues. The findings so far will be summarised from this project with a wider discussion around the impact of these findings. They will also discuss previous work (the ‘Fields of Green: Towards sustainable Scottish music festivals’) they have done with Matt around music festivals.

Ableton Certified Trainer and Soma Records artist, Simon Stokes (aka Petrichor) will demonstrate tips and techniques for music production using Ableton Live. In these 45 minute workshop, you’ll learn how to generate new musical ideas and then how to arrange these in to complete tracks using Live.
